This phase of the Neotropical
Migratory Bird Conservation Act project has focused on the
conservation of Important Bird Areas supporting populations
of 45 migrant landbird species, all of which are on the
Audubon
WatchList and the U.S. Fish and Wildlife Service Birds
of Conservation Concern list. Some of these are categorized
as globally threatened species that are on the International
Union for Conservation of Nature's (IUCN) Red List of
Threatened Species.
Through
analyses of data compiled to date in the Important Bird Areas
database, 965 identified
or recognized
Important Bird Areas throughout the U.S. reported the occurrence
of one or more of these species in breeding, wintering, or
in passage.
See
the table below for information on the focal landbird species.

This project has been possible thanks to the generous support of the Neotropical Migratory Bird Conservation Act Grant of the U.S. Fish and Wildlife Service.
