WHAT WE DO

John is responsible for coordinating and directing Important Bird Areas Program activities on a state, national and international level. He represents Audubon on several conservation initiatives, participating on the Western Hemisphere Shorebird Reserve Network's U.S. Committee, the U.S. National Ramsar Committee, and the US Shorebird Council, of which he is Chair. John is involved in issues dealing with global warming and energy impacts on Important Bird Areas and is the point of contact for IBA conservation planning, mapping and GIS, and technology issues.

Connie oversees and assists in various aspects of Important Bird Areas Program coordination, including data management and support to state programs. She leads IBA Database development, training, implementation, and IBA criteria training. She is the point of contact for IBA outreach, including IBA web content, IBA Program e-mail lists, and IBA brochures, signs and other materials.

Iain leads the development and implementation of the Important Bird Areas Assessment process, as part of and in coordination with Audubon's conservation planning efforts. He is the point of contact for Important Bird Areas Assessment methodology, training and coordinating implementation with states. He assists in the development of the IBA Database, the development of web content for IBA Site Assessment, and the tracking, analysis and reporting of IBA Assessment data.
