Adopt-A-Puffin for your Special Valentine!

Long lasting relationships are not only unique to humans. Puffins often have remarkable faithfulness to their mates. Our most faithful puffin, Bi98, who is 32 years old this year, has had the same mate for 15 years and they have nested in the same burrow for all of those years. He nested with his previous mate for 11 years in the same burrow.

This year celebrate your special someone on Valentine’s Day by adopting a puffin for them. Or, make a donation to Project Puffin in honor of, or in memory of a special someone. Your gift will help Maine puffins with a very creative gift. Recipients of our adoptions receive a biography and photo of their puffin, an adoption certificate, and choice of a special gift. To adopt a puffin for Valentine’s Day, click HERE.

PS: Please let us know if you are making a Valentine’s Day adoption or Valentine’s Day donation in honor of or memory of someone. You can let us know in the notes box in the online ordering process or email us at edonatepuffin@audubon.org. For recipients to receive their adoption by Valentine’s Day, please be sure to adopt your puffin by February 8th, 2010.

For a special treat, try making Seabird Sue's "Cream Puffins" for your Valentine. Click HERE for the recipe.

These cute "Cream Puffin" pastries are fun to make AND delicious!
