What: The first functioning leg of the statewide Virginia trail extends along the coastal plain-tying together more than 225 birding sites through a series of 18 driving loops that also take in the region's rich culture and history. The newly completed Mountain phase features 34 loops of expansive mountain vistas and endless forest trails. The Piedmont phase will be dedicated in September 2004.
