Young Artists Celebrate Audubon
Audubon Adventures invited student artists from across the nation to help us celebrate our Centennial. Each participant chose a bird species found in their own neighborhood, created a work of art representing that bird and its habitat, and researched and wrote a natural history of the bird, including what the bird eats and what kind of habitat it needs. Students also identified what kinds of things might threaten this species, such as loss of its nesting habitat, or pollution. All entries were submitted to local Audubon Centers for review. The entries displayed here were chosen for exhibition on our Centennial Web Gallery in recognition of the artists’ attention to detail, originality, quality, and technique, as well as the accuracy of the research they submitted.
