Wildlife Habitat Garden Tour

July 12, 2007

A tour of 5 Fort Collins gardens designed with wildlife in mind will be sponsored by Fort Collins Audubon Society on July 14, 2007. Visitors may purchase a “guidebook” ticket for the tour from sponsors including Fort Collins Nursery, Ranch-Way Feeds, Wild Birds Unlimited, Bath Nursery, Perennial Gardener, Gardens on Spring Creek, and Audubon’s website. . The self-guided tour will run from 8am to 3pm.

Each garden exhibits a different approach to designing a bird, butterfly, or other wildlife-friendly garden. Ranging from a small urban backyard to several in-town acres, the gardens are primarily designed and built by the owners, and each is distinctive. Visitors can learn to create their own wildlife friendly garden by adding plantings and features that will supply the food, shelter and water needs of animals.

For more information visit www.fortnet.org/audubon or call (970)490-BIRD.
