9th Annual Dine and Dance Destination House

EASTON—Pickering Creek Audubon Center's ninth annual "Spring
into Summer" Dine and Dance, Sunset on the Wye,
will be held on Saturday, June 17th from 5:30 p.m. to midnight.
The evening will begin with dinners in local homes followed
by desserts and dancing under the stars at Wye Town Farm, the
home of Tim and Lisa Wyman. The Swingin' Swamis, an exciting
band from Baltimore will keep the evening alive and guests kicking
up their heels.
Mike Linardi and Carolyn Thornton, Chairs
of this popular
event are excited to announce the 2006 Dinner Committee, local
supporters who are hosting dinners in their home. This year's
dinner hosts include Chip and Sally Akridge, Bill and Michelle
Corace, Paolo and Leslie Frigerio, Richard and Susie Granville,
Bill and Mary Griffin, Tony and Hope Harrington, Steve and
Gigi Hershey, Anne Kimberly, Julian and Emily Larkin, Joe
and Mary Lou Peters, David and Susan Pyles, Penny Proserpi,
Peter Stifel with Bruce Summer, Charles and Carolyn Thornton,
Dick and Margaret Welch and Tim and Lisa Wyman.
Along with Chairs Linardi and Thornton,
the Dine and Dance Committee members include Pat Ingram, Catherine
Liebl, Rita Osgood, Norma Redele, Bruce Summer, Margaret Welch
and Lisa Wyman.
A tradition at Dine and Dance is the auction
offering exciting items for bid. Auction and dinner proceeds
benefit Pickering creek's award winning education programs
and spectacular outdoor experiences for youth. This year's
auction items include a full day or two half days of fly fishing
with local guide Russ Wilkinson, a the only private children'
overnight camping experience at Pickering Creek of the year,
a weeks stay at Star of the Sea, an oceanfront condo in Rehoboth
Beach, a gourmet dinner at Creek Bend Farm at the headwaters
of Pickering Creek prepared by Norma Redele and Bruce Summer,
a pheasant hunt a Pintail Point, an oil or watercolor portrait
of a loved one (either a person or a pet) painted by renowned
artist Laura Era, owner of Troika Gallery in Easton and a
50/50 raffle the evening of the event.
Pickering Creek Audubon Center is dedicated
to community-based conservation of natural resources through
environmental education and outreach on the Eastern Shore
of the Chesapeake Bay. The center is a 400-acre working farm
featuring a variety of habitats that represent many of the
ecosystems of Delmarva, including mature hardwood forest,
marsh, meadow, cropland and shoreline on a tidal creek.
For over twenty years, Pickering Creek
Audubon Center has provided quality conservation education
programs to students from eight Maryland counties. These programs
connect students of all ages to the environment, science and
the beauty of the Chesapeake Bay. Over 16,000 students visit
each year to learn about their magnificent watershed, the
Chesapeake Bay.
