Volunteer & Internship Opportunities

Volunteer
Audubon Maryland-DC has a number of volunteer opportunities available throughout the year. Hardworking members of the community keep our centers running smoothly. From trail, pier and building maintenance to leading school groups, lending your skills to one of our centers or chapters will help a great deal in helping us connect people with nature.

The following centers currently have volunteer opportunities:

Pickering Creek Audubon Center, Easton, MD

Volunteer activities include: Removing invasive plants, habitat restoration, trail maintenance, building wetland overlook, nest box monitoring, gardening, school program docent, administrative items and more.

Jean Ellen duPont Shehan Sanctuary, Bozman, MD

Volunteer activities include: Removing invasive plants, habitat restoration, bird surveys and nest box monitoring.

Patterson Park Audubon Center, Baltimore, MD

Volunteer activities include: school program and after-school program assistance, office help, and program preparation assistance.

Audubon Society of Central Maryland

Volunteer activities include: Removing invasive plants, planting, nest box monitoring, building raised walkway and more.


Internships
Audubon Maryland –DC offers a variety of environmental education and conservation internships year-round. Internships are carried out at several locations throughout the state, ranging from the shores of the Chesapeake Bay, to the sidewalks of Baltimore. Our internships are designed to offer opportunities for people to work in the environmental field as educators and researchers. Internships are also available in the areas of Development and Public Policy. Professional Audubon staff work closely with interns to ensure a challenging and rewarding experience. College students are able to fulfill academic requirements while gaining valuable work experience.
