Programs at Patterson Park Audubon Center
Monthly Bird Walks

Did you know that over 100 species of birds visit Patterson Park and over 50 species call the Park and surrounding neighborhoods home? Bird walk regulars have seen Red-tailed Hawks, American Bitterns, Scarlet Tanagers and Baltimore Orioles. Click here for our list of birds.

All bird walk programs begin at the fountain located in the corner of the park closest to the intersections of Lombard Street and Patterson Park Avenue. The walks take place from 8:00 am to 9:30 am and are open to all ages. Bird walks occur rain or shine on the last Saturday of each month. No binoculars? No problem. Just let the center know at 410-558-2473 or via email.

Upcoming Walks:

Fall Migration
October 25, 8am-9:30am

See which birds are still passing through in the late fall season-look for kinglets, creepers, hermit thrushes, and maybe even a yellow-rumped warbler!

A Week Early for Turkey Day
November 15, 8am-9:30am

Start building up your appetite for your Thanksgiving meal by going on a crisp morning bird walk through the park - a week earlier than usual to free up the holiday weekend for travel plans.

Winter Visitors
December 20, 8am-9:30am

See which birds are residents in the park during this early winter birdwalk. Will the park be visited by the black duck or the American wigeon? Join us to find out!
