RE: Birdathon Coming Soon

Birdathon is right around the corner! This event, usually held in conjunction with Migratory bird day in May, is the world's biggest competitive bird watching event and Audubon's largest annual fund-raising event. Every year thousands of participants - young and old, novice and expert - across the nation begin counting and counting and counting.. as many birds as they can possibly find. Birdathon is a flourishing, high profile event that attracts local and national media attention and helps to raise awareness about Audubon's mission. Besides all that, it's just plain fun! Employees, students, teachers, retirees, and everyone in between get a chance to spend the day (or half day or just an hour) outside counting birds. They then collect on pledges that they have secured from family, friends, business associates and so forth. The money that is collected helps to provide supplies for classrooms, programs on the environment, refuge for wildlife, habitat restoration and more.

This event is a great way to gain visibility in your community. By involving your neighbors, businesses and organizations, you are increasing YOUR chapter's exposure. It's a great way to meet new potential members, donor and volunteers.
