Rivers and Wildlife Celebration
Presented by Audubon Nebraska, Audubon's Rowe Sanctuary, and the Nebraska Partnership for
All-Bird Conservation.
Gather with wildlife enthusiasts from around the world each March to celebrate the annual migration
of 500,000 sandhill cranes and millions of waterfowl through central Nebraska. This annual conference
is open not just to National Audubon Society members but to anyone interested in experiencing one of the greatest wildlife
spectacles on Earth and learning more about the natural world in a friendly and informal atmosphere.
Celebration Highlights
Field trips/Workshops:
- Sunrise and sunset visits to crane viewing blinds along the Platte Rivernot to be missed!
- Day-long excursions to local wetlands and lakes to view migrating waterfowl and native Nebraska wildlife.
- Past workshops have featured professional photographers, illustrators, and writers.
Featured speakers:
Past speakers have included authors, scientists, wildlife photographers, ornithologists, and conservationists
such as Bruce Babbitt, Robert Bateman, Pete Dunne, Jane Goodall, Kenn Kaufman, Carl Safina, Terry Tempest Williams, and Julie Zickefoose.
Country Store:
The store has a wide array of quality merchandise and memories, including photographs, binoculars, spotting scopes, clothes, literature,
paintings, and more.
