Lewis & Clark Lake and Gavins Point Dam
Site Description:
Area includes an 8,000-acre Missouri River reservoir and a state recreation area of 1,300 acres. It is Nebraska’s second largest lake, straddling its northeast corner with South Dakota. A nature trail is present, as well as an aquarium in the associated Lewis and Clark Recreation Area.
Ornithological Summary:
Birding from the dam should offer views of gulls, waterfowl, and other birds including numerous bald eagles during migration periods.
