Winter Exploring & Sale at the Randall Davey Audubon Center
Santa Fe, NM – Every Saturday Audubon offers FREE guided bird walks at 8:30 a.m. The cold weather moved in many winter birds to the feeders and grounds, while resident visitors enjoy the bounty of bird seed and warmed water in the garden. Wild Birds Unlimited provided a heated bird bath, along with additional feeders to complement their monthly donation of bird seed at the Center. When the snow falls and the temperatures drop this is a needed support for the birds that over-winter or pass through the Santa Fe River canyon and in the Audubon gardens. Bring your binoculars or use ours to view these birds. (Due to ice and snow conditions, these have been cancelled until March 7, 2009.) Audubon’s Annual Holiday Sale is Saturday, December 13, and everything is 20% off. Come help support Audubon’s education and conservation mission and purchase great gifts such as books, field guides, jewelry, t-shirts, hats, children’s toys, games, cards, calendars and other great wildlife-oriented gifts. Your purchase goes directly towards supporting birds and their habitats. Gates at the Center are open between 8:00 – 5:00 p.m., and the store is regularly staffed by volunteers from 10:00 am. – 4:00 p.m. During the holidays the Center will be CLOSED December 24, 25, and 31 st, and on January 1st.
