Higher elevation habitat near Las Cruces offers Scaled
Quail and Western Screech-Owl (R); and Hutton’s Vireo and Virginia’s Warbler
(5). Do not trespass in military or private areas outside the entrance road.

From Las Cruces, take US 70 east (Exit 6A off 1-25). Turn right 1.1 miles after
San Augustin Pass or MM 16. Follow the road for 6 miles. At mile 4, the road
becomes a one-way loop and climbs steeply.
