| Superb birding begins in spring when Red-faced Warblers
arrive. Other species include Flammulated Owl, Common Poorwill,
Whip-poor-will, Whitethroated Swift, Greater Pewee, Painted Redstart,
Virginia’s Warbler and Hepatic Tanager (S). Habitat: Deciduous and coniferous riparian woodland; ponderosa pine forest. Location: From Silver City go north on NM 15. Continue past Pinos Altos for 5 miles to Cherry Creek. McMillan is 1.1 miles farther. |
