Some of Mogollon’s residents maintain hummingbird feeders that attract Magnificent and Broad-tailed Hummingbirds (M/S), with Rufous, Calliope and Blue-throated (rare) Hummingbirds between mid-July and Sept. Other pine forest birds are present.
Habitat: Rural town; hummingbird feeders; ponderosa pine.
Location: Drive 3.4 miles from Glenwood on US 180. Turn east on NM 159. The 10-mile drive to Mogollon is steep, narrow and winding. Be very cautious in winter.
