Willow Creek offers many high-elevation species including Band-tailed Pigeon, Red-naped Sapsucker, Olive-sided Flycatcher and MacGillivray’s Warbler (M/S); and Williamson’s Sapsucker, Blue Grouse (rare) and Three-toed Woodpecker (rare) (R). Low temperatures may be around freezing even in mid-July.
Habitat: Riparian and spruce-fir forests.
Location: From Mogollon, continue on NM 159 for 17 miles. NM 159 is closed in winter beyond Mogollon. Call the local Ranger Station for opening dates. High clearance may be required.
