Annual Fund
Your generosity helps fund our education and conservation programs and keeps the Center open.  Please consider an annual gift to support our efforts.  If you would like to make a gift, Click Here.

Honoraria and Memorials
Give a gift to honor the memory of a friend or loved one, to celebrate a birthday, anniversary or special occasion.  An acknowledgment letter will be sent to the person of your choosing.
Call 210-628-1639 for more information.

Planned Giving and Bequests
Planned gifts and bequests allow you to provide a lasting form of support to Audubon Texas.  Types of support may include cash bequests, stock gifts, insurance policy beneficiary designations, retirement plan beneficiary designations, annuities, and trust arrangements.

If you intend that your planned gift or bequest be designated specifically for Texas programs, it is important to designate “Audubon Texas for Mitchell Lake Audubon Center” as the beneficiary. We welcome the opportunity to show you the potential benefits of making a gift to support our work. Personal discussions, visits, or written presentations incur no obligation on your part, and of course, all information discussed is confidential.  Please contact Susan Houston at shouston@audubon.org.

Volunteers
Volunteering is an exciting and rewarding way to participate with Audubon.  We are always looking for enthusiastic individuals or groups of people to support and enhance our programs.

Interpretive Volunteers focus on guided tours and facilitate hands-on activities with guests. Specific duties may include being able to answer questions and provide information on the flora and fauna of the area.  Volunteers receive training, and may work on weekdays and weekends.

School Program Volunteers assist with facilitation of scheduled group programs for school children. School Group Programs are age-specific (K-12) and meet state education standards. The programs are typically held on weekday mornings. Volunteers for these programs complete extensive training, and this program requires dependable individuals who can make a substantial time commitment.

Special Event Volunteers can become involved in a variety of ways, from assisting staff at our Family Programs to helping with the Fall Wildlife Festival and Plant Sale.  These volunteers are contacted as events are scheduled, and may need to work on evenings and weekends.

Garden volunteers are needed to keep our native gardens maintained.  Tasks vary and may include weeding, mulching and planting.  The work will vary seasonally, and individuals or groups are welcome.

For more information on volunteer opportunities, please call 210-628-1629 or email mlac@audubon.org.
