Audubon Vermont Gift Societies

The hundreds of individuals who make gifts to Audubon Vermont each year provide the cornerstone of Audubon Vermont's annual support. These gifts demonstrate a strong commitment to Audubon and its mission; each contribution sends a personal message confirming a belief in the importance of preserving and protecting birds, other wildlife and critical habitats here in Vermont through the work of Audubon Vermont. We provide special benefits to donors who direct their Audubon contributions to support Audubon Vermont. Membership in any of these Societies is automatic once you reach a certain cumulative giving history during our fiscal year (July 1st to June 30th).

2003-2004 Benefits of Giving

All donors of $20 or more to Audubon Vermont will receive the following benefits:

  • Membership in Audubon Vermont and the National Audubon Society
  • One year of the award-winning AUDUBON magazine, the Audubon Vermont Newsletter and the Audubon Vermont Annual Report
  • Discounts on bird walks, field trips, summer camps and other Audubon Vermont programs for youth, families and adults
  • Recognition in the Audubon Vermont Annual Report

Those individuals who make annual gifts of $100 or more will be invited to join us at a donor-only gathering as part of our Audubon Autumn Fest to be held September 2003 at the Trapp Family Lodge in Stowe.

Gift Levels:

Black-capped Chickadee ($100-$249)

Red-winged Blackbird ($250-$499)

Bluebird ($500-$999)

Established in 2002, the Lucy and John James Audubon Society recognizes those individuals who make leadership gifts of $1,000 or more to the National Audubon Society and its many state and other programs. Audubon Vermont offers a number of special benefits, which increase with levels of giving, to members of this esteemed group of annual donors who direct their generous contributions to support the work of Audubon Vermont. Membership in any of these Societies is automatic once you reach a certain cumulative giving history for the year.

Ruby Throated Hummingbird ($1,000-$2,499)
Join us at an annual reception in Vermont for leadership donors with a special guest speaker.
You will also receive invitations to regional events, honored recognition in the National Audubon Society Annual Report, and four issues of The Journal - Audubon's quarterly publication highlighting progress on key Audubon initiatives, plus nature artists and important Audubon profiles.

Hermit Thrush ($2,500-$4,999) Participate free of charge in a field trip for leadership donors led by Audubon Vermont staff. You will also receive a gift book or fine photographic print by a well-known nature artist.

Common Tern ($5,000-$9,999)
Bring your family to the Green Mountain Audubon Center for a private nature program focusing on a special interest area (birds, other wildlife, plants, wildflowers, etc.).
Please also join National Audubon Society staff at an intimate reception with a well-known nature writer or photographer.

Osprey ($10,000-$24,999)
Receive a visit to your home by an Audubon Vermont staff member to provide a consultation on Gardening for Wildlife, or set up a bird feeding station and guide you on year-round bird identification.
Please also join National Audubon staff for a behind-the-scenes look at the making of AUDUBON magazine, considered the gem of the environmental publishing world.

Great Egret ($25,000 and above)
Let us put together a day of outdoor exploration for you and your family or friends with an Audubon Vermont naturalist. This trip will be customized to your interests to include hiking, snowshoeing, birding or animal tracking, etc. at one of Vermont's many beautiful natural areas.
Also enjoy a customized birding trip with a National Audubon expert ornithologist somewhere in North America. If you join as a Founding Member with a commitment of two years or more, you may also invite two family members or friends to join you on the trip.

All gifts, great or small, are appreciated and welcomed, but we have much work to do if Vermont's valuable bird and wildlife habitats are to be saved. That's why I hope you will consider sending your gift -just as large as you can make it- today.
