The longest-running citizen science project on the planet, the Christmas Bird Count, involved tens of thousands of volunteers in thousands of locations from Alaska to Antarctica. Featured Bird!

Ring-billed Gull
Remember yellow, yellow and yellow when trying to identify the medium-sized gull mixed in with the big guys. Mature ring-bills have yellow legs, yellow eyes, and yellow bill with distinct black band at the end. Like all gulls, they’re adaptable, omnivorous, and always have a lot to say. They can be found statewide along the Great Washington State Birding Trail.
