Anne Morton, Education Director

Annie grew up on a Tennessee cattle farm, where she acquired her deep love of the outdoors, animals, and all things natural. As kids, she and her brother ran wild across the fields, pastures, hills, and streams. Armed with her bachelor’s degree in environmental studies from the University of Utah, she gained professional experience in Ohio and Russia, and then Arizona where she worked as education director for the ‘Ahakhav Tribal Preserve, responsible for outreach, fieldtrips, and youth programs. While life on the lower Colorado River plateau was a great experience, after her second year of running summer camps in 127-degree heat in terrain sprinkled liberally with rattlesnakes, scorpions, and spiders, she decided there had to be better ways of challenging herself. So she and her family, which includes a slew of pets, moved to the Pacific Northwest, declaring Seattle to have the potential of being their forever home.
