How We Advocate

Audubon Washington builds good will in local communities through local chapters, and increases the political resolve of policy leaders through advocacy and negotiation.

Our reach stretches across party lines and deep into communities throughout Washington state.

We conduct both direct and grassroots advocacy based on sound science. The grassroots work is organized through the Washington State Audubon Conservation Committee.

Our policy staff and thousands of Audubon activists from across Washington advocate at the local, state and national levels for sensible public policy to safeguard clean air, clean water, and the natural world.

The goals of Audubon Washington’s policy team are to formulate and implement state-level conservation policy priorities with appropriate funding, and to help increase Audubon chapter member effectiveness as conservation advocates.
