Audubon's Great Backyard Bird Count Art Exhibit

KIDS ART EXHIBIT:
Budding artists- contribute your masterpieces the Great Backyard Bird Count Art Exhibit! This colorful cardinal is by 8 year old Corinne who participated in the Centennial Kids Art Exhibit.

PARTICIPANTS: Exhibit is open to kids ages 17 and younger.

GUIDELINES: Start with a local (native) wild bird species found in your neighborhood or region. Then create a work of art representing your interpretation of that bird and its habitat. Research the natural history of your bird including its survival requirements and current threats to its survival, and include a short description with your artwork. Please be attentive to detail because originality, quality and technique, as well as the accuracy of the field guide information, will be considered during our review. Entries must be on 8-1/2 x 11 inch sheet of any kind of paper. You can use any medium except photography, including pencil, pen and ink, crayon, paint, collage and/or mixed media. Remember to submit the Artwork/Permission form with your artwork and research information.

Selected artwork will be displayed on Audubon's web site starting April 1st 2008, and others may be exhibited at local Audubon Centers and other Audubon locales.

RESTRICTIONS: Audubon is not responsible for the loss or damage of materials submitted for the exhibit. No material will be returned to entrants. Entry in this exhibit indicates acceptance of the guidelines and restrictions.

All submitted artwork is the property of National Audubon Society, Inc. and will not be returned. Audubon reserves the right to publish and use the artwork in any medium without payment in regard to publication, exhibition or promotion, including in Audubon brochures and newsletters, the Audubon Adventures newspaper and Audubon magazine. No acknowledgment of receipt will be sent. In view of the volume of expected submissions, the exhibit staff cannot enter into correspondence of any kind. NO PHONE CALLS PLEASE. Affix each artwork with a completed official "Great Backyard Bird Count Kids Art Exhibit" form with a parent's or guardian's signature verifying that both the artist and parent or guardian have read the exhibit guidelines and restrictions and accept the conditions.
