New Report Shows Climate Change will have Increasing Impact on Birds

Audubon’s Glenn Olson and Greg Butcher joined Interior Secretary Salazar and representatives of other leading conservation organizations to announce the release of the 2010 US State of the Birds Report. The report’s findings send an urgent call to reduce carbon emissions and take steps to help birds adapt to changes already in process. See press release. See video.

Interior Secretary Names Glenn Olson to Advisory Councils

Interior Secretary Ken Salazar is tapping Glenn Olson for a 3-year ex-officio term on the North American Wetlands Conservation Council, and the Neotropical Migratory Bird Conservation Advisory Group. The former executive director of Audubon California now serves Audubon as the Donal O’Brien Chair in Bird Conservation through Advocacy and Public Policy. “Glenn Olson's experience in wetland habitat conservation is very impressive and will be a significant asset to these important advisory bodies,” said Secretary Salazar. Audubon's Dr. Frank Gill Statement on Greater Sage-Grouse Decision

An announcement by Interior Secretary Salazar on the imperiled Greater Sage-Grouse returned science to the decison on Endangered Species listings. "The Interior Department is on the right path with its new science-based plans," said Audubon President Dr. Frank Gill. Find out more here.
