NAS, in association with HBO Kids Video, now offers its award-winning Audubon's Animal Adventures, a half-hour children's series, on home video. A special teacher's rate is available to Audubon members through HBO. If members (or chapters) or teachers purchase the full series, they receive a $30 discount off the retail price, plus a wooden video rack to hold the series. Individual units are $9.95 each; the discounted price for the full 13-volume series (plus the free rack)* is $99.99. Chapters may wish to take advantage of the discount offer by purchasing some units or the full series for donation to a library, nature center, school, or other public or private facility that might air them, in addition to adding them to their own educational resources. Audubon's Animal Adventures examines the beauty, magic, and danger facing the world's wildlife. Narrated by Brad Kane, the voice of Aladdin in Disney's blockbuster films, it takes family viewers on a wildlife odyssey, showcasing endangered animals around the world and the people who work to ensure their survival. The series focuses on threatened and endangered species of sea turtles, cranes, wolves, bats, dolphins, whales, alligators and crocodiles, bears, puffins, panthers and cougars, manatees, parrots, and eagles. The program debuted last fall on The Disney Channel (TV) as one of the highest-rated original series ever on that channel; it can now be seen on weekend mornings at 9:30 a.m. as part of the family block. The series received the 1996 Genesis Award for Outstanding Cable Television Children's Series.
