NAS Ecology Camps Are Great Fun -- Send the "Big Kids," Too!

Send the "big kids", too! That's the message from the NAS Adult Ecology Camps and Workshops, as they invite chapters to reward faithful chapter Board members or other leaders by partially or fully sending them to "camp"!

Sending your Board members, other chapter leaders or special volunteers to Audubon Ecology "camp" also serves as a great vehicle for sending a message of support for these Adult Workshops. Chapter support is vital to the health and stability of both the Youth and Adult Ecology Camp and Workshop programs; many chapters offer scholarships for partial or full Youth and Adult Camp fees every year to the public and to chapter members. (If you've never been to one of the Camps/Workshops, why not treat yourself this year?)

The week-long Adult Ecology Workshops offer unique adult education, environmental stewardship training, outdoor recreation and adventure opportunities. Expert and friendly faculty lead hands-on field studies in geology and marine life, birds, mammals, plants, insects, weather, astronomy, and citizen-science research, and there is ample time for stargazing, book browsing, wildlife watching and camp camaraderie -- a decidedly fulfilling adult vacation. Through the experiential curriculum, participants may explore a wild island in Maine, go rafting in Wyoming, or roam the lush, deciduous woodlands of Connecticut. Participants come from all walks of life and represent a wide range of lifestyles and backgrounds. First come, first serve!

Options this summer: Audubon Ecology 1. Workshop in the Rockies (Wyoming); 2. Workshop in Maine (a. Coastal Ecology, b. Advanced Coastal Ornithology); 3. Workshop in Connecticut (Educator-oriented); and 4. Ecology & Issues Workshop, Gulf of Maine.
