Anyone Else Doing Something Like This?

Fairfax (VA) Audubon Society (FAS) is creating a "Master Naturalist" and "Naturalist Leader" certification program for members. They want to know if any other chapters have done anything similar. The two goals of the program are to help members increase their understanding of the natural world and to help develop more field trip leaders. At the core of this certification program is a series of college-level ornithology and ecology classes taught by Dr. William R. Stott, world- renowned ornithologist, artist, poet, and former FAS president. (Other naturalists and ornithologists will help teach courses as well.) FAS has turned the courses into significant fund-raisers to help other chapter education activities. Please respond to FAS directly via e-mail: fairfaxaud@erols.com, or write: P.O. Box 82; Vienna, VA 22183.

Correction: The Networker inadvertently published an incorrect phone and FAX number for Jerry Zeidler of Lycoming Audubon, the contact for the "Peregrine Project Successes" article that ran in Dec., '97 (Vol. II, No. 4). The correct number is: 717/435-4506. Apologies for the inconvenience.
