New Audubon Adventures Organizer's Kits have been sent to all 376 chapter Education chairpersons currently participating in the program, as well as all 518 chapter presidents, and all Audubon field offices this past spring. The Organizer Kits contain: Sponsor Handbook; the Connecting Children to Nature in Your Community promotional booklet; order forms. In the Sponsor Handbook, chapters will find valuable information, including topic lists, tips on organizing your chapter's program, photographs of the kit contents, finding funding, and whom to call for help. The promotional booklet, Connecting Children to Nature in Your Community, was developed specifically with teachers in mind. Using a "frequently asked questions" format, teachers learn everything from how much the program costs, to how Audubon Adventures incorporates National Science Standards. Chapter Education chairpersons and all chapter presidents also received complimentary Audubon Adventures Individual Kits as samples to show potential Adventures classrooms and schools. To request materials, call the Audubon Adventures hotline: 1-800/813-5037. Adventures Progress Report to NAS Board:Audubon Adventures has been significantly modified since the adoption of the Strategic Plan in 1995. To find out how and why, and learn the results of the annual evaluation of the program (both chapters and teachers responded), order a copy of Audubon Adventures Progress Report, June 1998 by calling the Audubon Adventures hotline and requesting a copy. | |||
