Mark your calendars! This year's National Wildlife Refuge Week will take place October 11-17, 1998, and marks the 95th anniversary of the Refuge System -- counting down to the centennial in 2003. Many refuges will host special events such as open houses, bird and wildlife walks, and art contests. There are a multitude of opportunities for Audubon chapters to help plan events, reach out to other organizations, or just raise general awareness about refuges in your communities. We will be sending a Refuge Week planning packet in August to interested chapters, including a 1998 Refuge Week poster for kids.
For More Info about Refuge Week or to order a packet for your chapter, contact Lora Wondolowski, NAS-DC
