Infomagnets Publicize Wyoming Bird Hotline

Bruce Walgren, president of Murie Audubon Society in Wyoming, didn't have to go further than his refrigerator to come up with a clever idea to let the public know about the Wyoming Bird Hotline. Using his home computer and materials from the local office supply store, he created magnets like the one above to advertise the Hotline number and the chapter. The magnets are inexpensive to make and are distributed for free at chapter events.

To create the magnets, Bruce used Microsoft Publisher software to print business cards on plain cardstock, then applied the cards to Business Card Magnets, adhesive backed magnet business card size strips available at office supply stores. He suggests that most desktop publishing software would probably work to print the cards -- Printmaster is another option. In addition, a variety of business card cardstock is available, some of which has pre-printed designs or borders.

There are all kinds of applications for info-magnets. Promote your chapter, an event, or even use them as a fundraiser.
