Welcome to:Tom Baptist, new Executive Director for the new CT State Office. Since May 1997 Tom served as Executive Director of the Audubon Center in Greenwich. Jackie Camborde, new Director of Development, New Mexico State Office. Jackie comes to NAS from the Museum of New Mexico Foundation. Chris Canfield, new Director of Development, North Carolina State Office. Prior to joining NAS, Chris served as the Director of Development for the Ackland Art Museum at the University of North Carolina in Chapel Hill. Valerie Cook, new Campaign Communications Coordinator. She now manages audubon-news and audubon-chat, the Audubon Advisory, the Armchair Activist, and other communication vehicles, and came to Audubon from the Brainard Foundation in Seattle, WA. Michael Foden, new Director of Development for the Everglades Conservation Office in Miami. He is a Miami native with strong ties to the Everglades, and with 12 years' experience in fundraising, public relations and marketing at the Arts Festival of Atlanta, the Florida Grand Opera and the Philharmonic Orchestra of Florida. Chuck Remington, new Education Coordinator for the NAS of New York State office. Chuck's background includes 10 years in environmental education, most recently as Curator of Education for the Aquarium of the Americas in New Orleans (LA). Steve Sedam, new Executive Director for the new Ohio State Office. Steve served as NAS Great Lakes Regional VP from 1990 to 1998; previously he was Executive Director of the Ohio Environmental Council. Ken Strom, new Field Director for our Population & Habitat campaign. Ken just completed his fourth season of managing the Audubon Camp in the Rockies, and is a veteran of the Sanctuary Division (managed Rowe Sanctuary; worked at Beidler). Good-bye & Best Wishes to:Susan Murray, former NAS Birdathon Manager, who also served as Chapter Outreach Coordinator for Birdathons, and before that, as Policy Analyst for the Litigation Program and Migratory Birds Program. She is now handling marketing partnerships for the American Red Cross. Vicki Shaw, former Sr. VP/Director for Education & Communications. Vicki came to NAS in 1992 as VP for Conservation Information, then VP for Planning, in which position (per John Flicker) "...her insightful and analytic work was critical to the development of the strategic plan which now guides all of Audubon's work." Vicki then became Sr. VP for Education and Communications, "where she guided the transition in leadership in Audubon magazine and created the innovative Birds for a Purpose program..." | |||
