Hunt Hill was donated to the National Audubon society by Frances Andrews. In 1954, together with her gift of the Hunt Hill property to National Audubon Society, Frances drafted a letter to the Directors conveying her views and hopes with regard to the use of Hunt Hill property:
"It will please me greatly if the Society establishes at Hunt Hill an Audubon Camp to bring folk an awareness of their natural surroundings which will cause them to realize the value and need of conservation of natural resources.  It is my earnest desire that Hunt Hill benefit and be enjoyed by the community, organizations, individuals and researchers."

Her dream was to see the property used as an environmental education center where people could have the opportunity to enjoy and learn about nature in the same way that she did.

Frances’s cabins still stand on “The Hill,” and Hunt Hill’s educational programs provide strong testimony to the visions of an extraordinary individual.
