Birdathon

Saturday, May 10

All Day

Start with an annual Spring Bird Count, add teams of birders searching for as many bird species as possible over a 24-hour period, fold in sponsors to support our efforts and you have Birdathon.  All proceeds from this fun fundraiser are used to support Audubon Sharon's bird-related activities such as bird rehabilitation, bird research and bird habitat enhancement.  To arrange to join a group of birders or to make a pledge, contact the Center.

 

Kent River Road Bird Walk w/ Bob Moeller

Saturday, May 17

8:00-11:00 am

Location: Meet at Kent Town Hall

Join expert birder Bob Moeller for this walk which has become a tradition for the Audubon Center. There's no telling what we may see or hear along this beautiful trail that follows the Housatonic River. Bob will help identify various species of warblers, thrushes, waterbirds and many others by sight and sound. Meet the group at Kent Town Hall and bring binoculars and/or spotting scope if you have them!

 

Raptor Aviary Maintenance Day

Saturday, May 17th

9:00am

Volunteers are needed to help with the annual spring cleaning which includes power washing aviary walls, adding new gravel to the aviary floors, providing new perching options for the birds and other maintenance-related tasks. 

 

Baby Bird Training Workshop

Sunday, May 18

3:00 pm

Volunteers interested in helping with the wildlife rehabilitation program this spring should attend this workshop.  Proper handling, feeding and cleaning techniques will be taught.  Call Erin at the Center for more information.
