Their upturned nose-scale helps them dig in sand Unfortunately, these snakes are often mistaken as poisonous and people needlessly kill them. They are actually quite harmless. If threatened, they may spread their neck to frighten predators. They have a curious habit of turning over and playing dead as well. It is quite convincing. This snake arrived at the Center in August 1998 as an abandoned pet. |
