Sharon, CT

Yellow Bellied Sap SuckerThe banding station at Miles is located in a mixed deciduous forest adjacent to Miles Pond.  This area is rich in woodpecker activity, is known for its voracious biting-insect activity and is visited frequently by colorful warblers.  2006 turned out to be one of the busiest summers at the Miles banding station bringing with it many Eastern Wood Pewees, Black and White Warblers, Louisiana Waterthrushes, American Redstarts, Yellow-bellied Sapsuckers and Veery.
