AUDUBON'S NEW GREEN WORKPLACE

Audubon has relocated to a new home office - designed and constructed to meet the highest green standards. The new space, located at 225 Varick Street in New York City's dynamic Hudson Square neighborhood, features an open and airy floor plan and windows on all sides.

From furniture to HVAC systems, the green work space office incorporates a wide array of sustainable features, including the following:

  • Low flow and automatic fixtures reducing water usage
  • Energy Star Appliances
  • Interior lighting with greater energy efficiency
  • Materials with a high level of recycled content Wood that is either salvaged or certified by the Forest Stewardship Council (FSC) supporting sustainable growing practices
  • Cork and bamboo to support the use of rapidly renewable resources

Audubon has a history and reputation for environmentally sensitive design for its office spaces as well as many of its nature education centers. When Audubon purchased and renovated its last headquarters - 700 Broadway - in the late 1980s/early 1990s, it was considered the first “green building in NYC.”
