Annual Fund/Marketing Manager

Purpose of the position
The Annual Fund/Marketing Manager reports directly to the Director of Development and on a day-to-day basis to the Center Director. The position will be responsible for developing and coordinating fundraising activities to raise operating funds for Trinity River Audubon Center (TRAC).
The position will be full-time; occasional evening and/or weekend work may be required (mostly related to special events and programs)

| Position Priorities |
|
Essential Functions:
- Coordinate an annual giving program that raises funds from a variety of sources (individuals, corporations, foundations) and plan fundraising activities (direct mail, special events) on a fiscal year calendar.
- Work with Center Director to develop the annual budget for the Center.
- Develop a marketing and promotions plan for the Center and its programs.
- Monitor dollar goals by funding source and fundraising activity.
- Forward contributions received for TRAC to state office for processing.
- Conduct prospect research and identify donors for further cultivation.
- Manage corporate and foundation donors to include research, grant deadlines, grant writing, follow-up meetings and correspondence.
- In collaboration with Center Director, update Annual Fund Director in state office regarding open grant projects for reporting purposes to funders.
- Work with the State Annual Fund Director in the creation of newsletters and brochures.
- Coordinate efforts with state office to generate reports and mailing lists for miscellaneous solicitations and invitations.
- Assist Center Director with developing press releases and public service announcements.
- Be able to represent Audubon with knowledge and understanding of programs and activities.
- Attend various meetings and events as needed.
- Other duties as assigned.

Relationships |
Internal:
The Annual Fund/Marketing Manager reports to the Director of Development. She/he works closely with Center staff and State Office staff assuring the smooth operation of fundraising efforts. She/he works directly with the Stewardship Board, volunteers, and donors. Grant writing duties require working with program staff to develop proposal content. The position requires regular communication with development staff at the state office in Austin.
External:
Represents Audubon in the local community, with local Audubon chapters, and collaborates with other like-minded organizations. Interacts with a broad array of donors and potential donors, as well as with nature center users, local school officials and educators, and government representatives.

Equipment: |
Must be proficient with computer, Microsoft Word and Excel, and other standard office equipment.
Qualifications:
Two years experience preferred. Excellent written and oral communication skills; excellent organizational skills; ability to handle simultaneous projects and meet deadlines; good knowledge of computer software including word processing, spreadsheet and database programs; resourceful and creative team player; ability to handle confidential information with discretion and integrity; comfortable with cold calling; willing to take initiative.
