Associate Director, Foundation and Corporate Relations
Location: New York, NY

Purpose of the position

Assist in the development, maintenance, and stewardship of Audubon’s national corporate and foundation fundraising program that meets or exceeds its annual revenue goals and helps to advance Audubon’s mission.

 

Position Priorities

Essential Functions:

  • Cultivate, solicit, and steward a portfolio of Audubon’s foundation and corporate prospects and donors.
  • Develop proposals and other materials to attract foundation and corporate funding to support Audubon’s overall mission and specific priority programs.
  • Assist in the development, management, and growth of Audubon’s corporate partners program.
  • Support senior staff in foundation and corporate fundraising.
  • Identify new opportunities for foundation and corporate support.

Additional Functions:

  • Coordinate with and support field fundraising staff and program staff in the development and execution of fundraising strategies.
  • Work with program staff to identify and articulate funding needs appropriate for foundation and corporate donors.
  • Work with Marketing and Communications staff to develop integrated approaches for Audubon’s top foundation and corporate donors.
  • Responsible for any other relevant work as assigned by the Director of Corporate and Foundation Relations.

 

Measurement of Performance

  • Progress toward meeting annual fundraising goals.
  • Amount of new foundation and corporate development activity generated.
  • Quality of development materials produced.

 

Relationships

Internal:

National Development staff, Education, Science and Policy staff; State Executive Directors; State Development Directors; Marketing and Communications staff

External:

Foundation staff, Corporate Giving staff

 

Equipment (e.g., computer, typewriter, calculator, copy machines, telephone, etc.)

All of the above.

 

Qualifications (e.g., education, training, experience, licenses and skills)

  • Bachelors degree, and/or Masters degree in relevant field.
  • Five years of development experience preferred.
  • Excellent communication and presentation skills.
  • Interest in environmental conservation.
