Pickering Creek Audubon Center serves over 16,000 visitors each year. We teach students from nine Maryland counties, and are fully integrated into the Talbot County Public School system. Students have access to classes that run a range from farm and garden through wetland ecology.  Hands-on field experiences provide meaningful outdoor experiences that correlate with student’s school curriculum. School programs at Pickering Creek build student’s relationship with the Chesapeake Bay and foster academic achievement. In addition to our successful school programming, Pickering Creek offers a wide range of activities for individuals and families. Programs encompass the garden, adventure, wellness, and natural history. Both our school and community programs give the public an opportunity to experience the wonder of nature, and to gain a better understanding and appreciation for the land.

The National Audubon Society's mission is to conserve and restore natural ecosystems, focusing on birds, other wildlife, and their habitats for the benefit of humanity and the Earth's biological diversity.
