Poll Shows Broad Support For Renewables and Protecting Arctic Refuge
Despite a multimillion-dollar campaign to convince lawmakers that they should allow drilling for oil in the Arctic National Wildlife Refuge in Alaska, the American public is not buying the oil industry's arguments, according to a national poll. Evidence including government studies show drilling in the Arctic would do virtually nothing to reduce gas prices while despoiling one of America's most special places. The independently conducted poll was commissioned by the Unified Arctic Campaign of which Audubon is a member.
