Audubon Names Greg Goldman Vice President and Executive Director for Audubon Pennsylvania

AUDUBON, Pa.—The National Audubon Society proudly announces the appointment of Greg H. Goldman, Vice President and Executive Director of Audubon Pennsylvania as of September 19, 2016. Just as migratory birds soar above challenges to build their nests, Goldman comes onboard at a critical time for Audubon and the Atlantic Flyway team.

“This is a very exciting time for Audubon Pennsylvania’s programming efforts across the state,” said Peg Olsen, Audubon’s Vice President, Atlantic Flyway. “Greg’s entrepreneurial drive, demonstrated fundraising results, deep commitment to diversifying the conservation community, and his knowledge of Pennsylvania will make him a valuable asset.”

In his new position, Goldman will be responsible for coordinating Audubon’s efforts across Pennsylvania, working to align nature centers, chapters, sanctuaries and projects with the National Audubon Society’s new strategic plan for conservation within watersheds, forests and bird-friendly communities. In the Delaware Valley, this includes two major capital projects, the Discovery Center in East Fairmount Park/North Philadelphia, and the John James Audubon Art and Conservation Center at Mill Grove in Audubon, Pa.

“I am thrilled to be joining such a well-known and respected statewide and national organization with extensive grassroots membership. I am particularly excited for the opportunity to grow and leverage these assets to advance Audubon’s urgent agenda around climate change and conservation—for the benefit of wildlife and humans alike,” said Goldman.

Formerly Vice President, Development for the Philadelphia Zoo, Goldman recently oversaw completion of a $32 million campaign for KidZooU. His background also includes stints as CEO of Wireless Philadelphia and Executive Director of MANNA, a volunteer organization providing nutritional services to people living with HIV/AIDS and other illnesses.

An Eisenhower Fellow, he holds a Bachelor’s degree from Northwestern University and a Master’s degree in public policy from the University of Chicago. A long-time resident of the Mt. Airy neighborhood of Philadelphia, Goldman is married to Liz Hersh, the Director of the City of Philadelphia’s Office of Homeless Services. They have two children, Emma and Zack.
