The Eastern Golden Eagle Working group was honored for its “dedication in studying and improving the management of the Eastern Golden Eagle population to ensure the long-term sustainability of the population and to make the species a flagship for landscape-scale conservation.”

Mark Martell, Audubon Minnesota’s Director of Bird Conservation said of the award; “The recognition by Wings Across the Americas highlights the work done by Audubon and many others to better understand and conserve this magnificent bird. As we understand more about the habitat use and migration patterns of this bird we are coming to realize the vital role that Minnesota and Wisconsin play in the life cycle of the eastern Golden Eagle.”
