In Final State of the Union, President Obama Promotes Clean Energy to Fight Climate Change

The President urged Congress to further invest in the "energy of the future"

WASHINGTON, DC - Last night, President Barack Obama addressed Congress to give his final State of the Union speech. As a response to the President's emphasis on clean energy, the National Audubon Society issued the following statement:

“President Obama nailed it: Climate change is a threat to all of us, and we have to focus relentlessly on solutions. That means dumping dirty energy and building a clean energy future,” said Audubon President and CEO David Yarnold. “Climate change threatens half of America’s bird species, so the Audubon network is pressing hard for solutions. Audubon members are  promoting clean energy in their communities, changing the plants in their backyards, and protecting the places birds need to survive. We can be what hope looks like to a bird.”
