Peter Vincent—Vice President, Human Resources
WORK
Peter joined Audubon on a part-time, consulting basis in the summer of 2012 and became the Vice President of Human Resources in January 2013. He heads up the HR team of 5 professionals, overseeing Audubon’s key resource – its talented, dedicated staff. He and his team provide guidance to leaders and staff on hiring, employee relations, performance feedback, benefits, compensation, staff development, and organizational effectiveness.
BACKGROUND
With more than 27 years of experience in key corporate roles (Human Resources, People/Organizational Development as well as Sales/Marketing), most recently Head of Human Resources for Time Inc. (Time Warner’s publishing division) Peter has brought a wealth of experience to Audubon. Prior to Time Inc. he worked in HR for Sony Corporation and, prior to that, was a school teacher.
At Time Inc. Peter was also responsible for the company's community outreach and charitable activities. In partnership with the Company’s CEO, he created the first on line employee giving campaign, Time to Give Back, which raised millions of dollars for a wide array of non-profits.
Since 2004 Peter has been on the board of MOUSE—a NYC-based youth empowerment organization enabling underserved youth to gain technology skills. He served as MOUSE's chair for 3 years and now serves as the head of its Compensation Committee.
An avid traveler, Peter has lived in Spain and Japan, has visited and worked globally in more than 30 countries, and can communicate in Spanish, French, Japanese, and Italian (to varying degrees!).
