Frequently Asked Questions

When will I receive my first issue of AUDUBON?
You'll receive your first issue approximately four weeks after your order date.

My current issue has not yet arrived. How do I get a replacement?
Audubon's bi-monthly issues, (January/February, March/April, May/June, July/August, September/October and November/December) are mailed to arrive at our members' homes by the first week of the issue month. For example, if your January/February issue has not reached you after the third week of January, we would have to assume it had gone astray in the mail and suggest you contact us at audubon@neodata.com for a replacement.

Whom do I contact for specific information about birds or nature?
Send your nature questions to askaudubon@audubon.org.; write to Ask Audubon, 225 Varick Street, 7th Floor, New York, NY 10014; or fax to 212-477-9069. Please be sure to include your name, address, and telephone number.

Can I use a credit card to pay for my membership?
Yes. You can pay for your membership with your Visa, Mastercard or American Express credit card by visiting our secure web site. Go to our Join Now page

How can I determine the last issue of AUDUBON I will receive before renewal is needed?
The date shown as part of the addressing information on your magazine cover is the month in which your membership expires provided the order has been paid. We send our first renewal reminder well in advance of your expiration date to ensure continuous service.

When can I expect to receive the gift I was offered with my membership?
It takes approximately six to eight weeks from the payment date for premium gifts to reach our members. Should it not reach you by then, please contact us at audubon@neodata.com

I understand that local Audubon chapter membership is one of the benefits of membership. How do I join my local chapter?
If you live in an area served by one of our 500 local chapters, you will be assigned to a chapter based upon your zip code and the chapter will receive notification of your membership shortly after you join Audubon. The chapter will contact you with information about meetings, program, trips, etc. To find out more about our chapters, email chapters@audubon.org

Why did I receive a renewal reminder or invoice after having renewed or paid for my membership?
This occasionally occurs when an invoice or renewal was mailed just prior to the processing of your order or payment. Please disregard the receipt of one such form. Should a second one reach you, however, do let us know so that we may investigate and resolve any possible problem. You may contact us at audubon@neodata.com

Do you do share your membership list with other organizations?
Audubon occasionally makes its membership list available to carefully selected organizations whose mailings you may find of interest. To have your name omitted from this list contact us at audubon@neodata.com

I have other questions or concerns not covered above.
