Wilson Springs
Audubon Arkansas is coordinating efforts to begin the monitoring and assessment of the Wilson Springs 121 acre preservation area. In partnership with the University of Arkansas, Audubon Arkansas is conducting a feasibility study for the construction of a nature center within the preservation area. Audubon Arkansas worked closely with Sam’s Club in developing and constructing the retention pond behind the Club. The pond helps to maintain the quality of the water flowing from the parking lot and building. Based on 2002 reports from the Wilson Springs Task Force Study, Wilson Springs provides habitat for the Arkansas darter, a candidate species for listing under the Endangered Species Act, the Ozark burrowing crawfish, numerous bird species, and other wildlife.

West Fork of the White River Watershed
The watershed is a 124 square mile sub-watershed of the Beaver Lake Basin and is located in the Boston Mountains of Washington County, AR.

World Peace Wetland Prairie
The World Peace Wetland Prairie is a 2.5-acre wetland prairie, a small remnant of what historically existed on the Ozark Plateau. Audubon Arkansas is helping to restore this site and provide educational outreach.

War Eagle Appreciation Day
War Eagle Appreciation Day is a day-long event along the War Eagle River in Madison County, Arkansas. The event includes a four-mile canoe trip ending at Withrow Springs State Park. Along the float, participants enjoy scenery and learn about ecology and environmental concerns through instructor-led lessons at various points along the river. At Withrow Springs State Park, there is food, musical entertainment, and informational booths on everything from the local ecology to the economy of Madison County.

Secchi Day
Secchi Day is a citizen-science event that begins at Prairie Creek Marina but includes all of Beaver Lake. Participants work as scientists by determining turbidity at various points throughout the lake. High turbidity means high sediment levels and generally decreased water quality.
