Site Description:

This 332-acre Nebraska Game and Parks Commission area lies along the Platte River and contains some excellent riparian and upland woodlands and over five miles of hiking trails.

Ornithological Summary:

Schramm Park is one of the most popular birding destinations in spring as the woodlands fill with warblers during spring migration. All sorts of passerine migrants can be found, including blue-gray gnatcatchers, summer and scarlet tanagers, and olive-sided flycatchers. Whip-poor-wills can be heard here, the otherwise rare Kentucky warbler is a regular summer resident, and there is an active bald eagle nest present.
