California-Christmas-Berry

Also known as Toyon. A large bush that can grow up to 30 feet tall and 15 feet wide. It produces showy white flowers in the summer and large numbers of red berries in the winter. It is drought tolerant and can grow in full sun to partial shade. 

California False Buckthorn

Also known as California Coffeeberry. A shrub that can grow from 6 to 15 feet in height and up to 15 feet wide. It produces small flowers in the summer, followed by dark berries that are sought-after by birds. It tolerates shade and has low water requirements. 

Bluebunch Fescue

Also known as Idaho Fescue. A grass that can grow up to 2 1/2 feet high and 1 1/2 feet wide. It is drought tolerant and does well in full sun to partial shade, as well as in containers. 

Eastern Mojave Wild Buckwheat

Also known as California Buckwheat. A perennial bush that grows up to 5 feet high and 6 feet wide. It maintains its leaves all year and produces white or light pink flowers from April to September. It is drought tolerant and can tolerate full sun to partial shade. 

Hummingbird-Trumpet

Also known as California Fuchsia. A perennial that grows up to 3 feet high and 3 feet wide. It produces red to red-orange flowers from August to October. It tolerates full sun to partial shade and is drought tolerant. 

Orange Bush-Monkey-Flower

Also known as Sticky Monkeyflower. A perennial shrub that grows up to 5 feet tall and 5 feet across. It produces yellow, orange or red flowers from May to August and has evergreen foliage. It is drought tolerant and tolerates full sun to partial shade. 

Bluebrush

Also known as Blueblossom Ceanothus. A bush that can grow up to 20 feet high and 40 feet wide. It produces blue flowers from March through May and has evergreen foliage. It tolerates full to partial sun and is drought tolerant. 

Wedge-Leaf Buckbrush

An evergreen bush that grows from 5 to 12 feet high. It produces white, light blue or lavender flowers from February through April and is drought tolerant. 

Great Red Indian-Paintbrush

An herbaceous perennial plant that grows up to 3 feet tall, flowers are pale orange to bright red. 

California Buckeye

A tree that grows from 9 to 40 feet in height, and up to 40 feet in diameter. It produces white to pale pink flowers from May to July and loses its leaves in fall and winter. It is drought tolerant.
