Audubon Society Star-Studded Gala Raises Millions for Bird Conservation

Audubon awarded two of the nation's most prestigious environmental honors on Jan. 17, 2013, in New York: the inaugural Dan W. Lufkin Prize for Environmental Leadership and the Audubon Medal. Tom Brokaw emceed the evening, and Bette Midler performed. Guests included Uma Thurman and Arki Busson, Robert F. Kennedy Jr., New York City Mayor Michael Bloomberg, Maya Lin, Jane Alexander, Cynthia and Dan W. Lufkin, and Sonia and Paul Tudor Jones II. International Crane Foundation founder George Archibald received the Lufkin Prize, and philanthropist Louis Bacon was awarded the Audubon Medal.
