Bird-Friendly Communities

The Center for Native Plants

Growing healthy communities for birds and people together

The National Audubon Society’s Center for Native Plants was established to promote the use of native plants that benefit birds in human communities. Native plants provide food and shelter for birds and can beautify our outdoor spaces and communities, making them more resilient and enjoyable for people too.

As part of Audubon’s Bird-Friendly Communities conservation work, the Center for Native Plants connects community members and conservation leaders with the information and resources that they need to grow more native plants and develop innovative community-driven native plant projects, from backyards to community gardens to public parks and restoration areas.
